Unsophisticated and intuitive user interfaceįinding your way around Download Shuttle should not be a problem, even for most inexperienced users. The app’s main window displays a list of your downloads, while the top toolbar provides buttons for basic functions, such as add or remove links.ĭownload Shuttle also includes an inspector window where you can visualize detailed informations about the download status of each segment, and comes with QuickLook support (you can access data about the downloaded file). To take advantage of the Download Shuttle capabilities, you must start by adding the links you want to process. You can go through the “Add” button included in the main window, or you can simply drag and drop the link on top of the app. In both cases, Download Shuttle automatically launches a new window that already includes the download URL, and enables you to change the output location, the file’s name, and the number of total segments. Note that Download Shuttle is also able to handle URLs that require authentication. Take into account that not all download links can be fragmented: the Download Shuttle tools might be obstructed by the host server. The same rule applies for the pause and resume functions. ![]() Then we considered a whole host of secondary factors-price, precision, travel and/or gym friendliness, the occasional vacuum function-analyzed the feedback from our colleagues, and condensed it all into the easily-digestible list you’ll find below. What We Looked Forīefore we settled on our winners, we established a few key metrics of quality: battery life (is it better suited to long, leisurely styling or quick touch-ups), versatility (is it appropriate for head-to-toe use and can it double as an electric shaver in a pinch), cutting power (is it more useful for detailing or hacking its way through Neanderthal-esque whiskers), and design (is it ergonomic enough to hug the hard-to-reach areas of your face, but sleek enough to warrant prime of place on your bathroom counter). And despite all that, they performed exponentially better than any of the others we tried. They’ve had beard oil accidentally dribbled over their blades, they’ve been tossed carelessly into dopp kits (and the occasional Ziploc bag), they’ve been dropped one too many times on the shower floor. Which is to say, the trimmers we landed on here have been put through the wringer. The only real stipulation we established was that each tester treat their trimmer of choice exactly the way they would under normal circumstances: with an utter disregard for its well-being. OK: how would you test a beard trimmer? We used them, of course, over the span of several months, enlisting a roster of hirsute GQ staffers-with beards of various shapes, lengths, and textures-to lend their expertise. If you don't know what differentiates a “just ok” trimmer from one that is top-shelf, don't worry we've got you covered. That means shaving the neck and cleaning up the sides with a stellar trimmer. While it's blossoming into a, dare we say, even better version of the beard you envisioned when you embarked on this journey, you'll want to keep it defined and trim along that way. A beard isn't one size fits all, so you've got to embrace what makes you unique along with trusting the process (read: be patient). Even when you're in that weird in-between growth phase that looks more scraggly than suave, or you've discovered your growth pattern is patchy and realistically won't fully connected. The first step in growing a beard is to not cut it. Growing a Beard for the First Time? Here's What You Need to Know And for all of those situations-for basically anything besides a close shave-you need a good beard trimmer. ![]() ![]() But even if you opt to grow a long beard, you will still need to know how to trim it as it grows. Figuring out the best beard trimmer for your particular facial hair situation is a personal journey, because great beards come in many shapes and sizes: there’s the perfect stubble, of course, or a beard that’s artfully shaped and styled. ![]() ![]() It even removed the pop-up on Tubi requesting the users’ age, which was a bit surprising. ![]() ![]() I tried using DSR to play in 4k and higher but then the game has all kinds of UI issues no matter what in game UI size I choose, so using my native 1080p with 8xAA via NPI was ideal.ĭoes anybody have any ideas or things I can try to get it working again? In the last few hours I've tried going back to several older drivers (378.92, 382.53, 385.69 and 387.92) and they all do the same thing, which makes me think it may have been going from 1709->1803 that broke some older games. Now that I'm on Windows 1803 the game menus just flicker a bunch and no AA is applied. The last time I played the game I was on Windwith driver version 391.65 and it worked perfectly. I just started playing Titan Quest Anniversary Edition with a friend and the AA and AO settings are no longer working. As the quality is poor and adds a huge amount of aliasing to the game) Make sure to disable reflections or just use variable reflections. And you don't need much to get the game looking near perfect. However it's something most people will never notice. The specular component is so harsh, and the TAA will often fail to completely resolve it in motion that not even TAA+FXAA+9xSSAA will completely fix it. Then there are some games that almost nothing will fix completely everything, even when you go completely overkill. They often bring about introducing a lot more artifacts than they help fix. The recent trend of "resolution scale" is the very lazy side of things) and most TAA methods by themselves, no matter how much they are doing. The problem is often there is too little done by developers (or too cheaply or too lazily. With SGSSAA however, even at above 40FPS it causes some smearing/blurring in motion. Even when just enhancing built in MSAA with MFAA. Below that threshold, MFAA causes smearing and blurring in motion. It turns out that MFAA doesn't function properly below 40FPS. And since MFAA changes this every frame it messes it up Not that I didn't expect this, since from what I recall, SGSSAA is coded to precisely match the sampling points and grid from the MSAA component. The lower level of SGSSAA, the worse it looks. But as soon as movement of the camera occurs, there is a ghosting/smearing effect that isn't shown in screenshots. So I tested a DX11 game that could be enhanced with SGSSAA, Far Cry Blood Dragon. I have wondered whether MFAA will benefit SGSSAA performance in anyway. ![]() ![]() I've used it every day - for many years now. Or maybe a "virtual printer driver" that can sit somewhere between the dialog and the actual printer driver, which manages these steps? (The Windows tool can do something like that, but I don't need all of its features, and I need it on Mac/Linux.) It gets even more inconvenient, when printing 2-up double sided, or when changing additional settings for this one printout. One thing I can do, is print odd pages, then reopen the dialog and print even pages, but this is very inconvenient, especially when I only want to print a certain page range of the document as the Mac dialog forgets my previous page range every time. While your files are consolidated into tabs, sometimes you need to see things side-by-side, and for this there are tabsets. If you open the command pane and begin typing “browser”, you’ll see an option called Browser: add browser tab. ![]() Tabs don’t have to be just your files though - Light Table can also open a browser window in a tab. Light Table opens each of your files as a tab so as you open multiple files you can easily navigate between them. The navigate pane is a filter list just like the command pane to make it easy for you to find your files. It’s also useful to note that once a file has been added to your workspace, you can easily access it later with the navigate pane, which you can bring up with Cmd-O. If you clear the workspace or open a new window of Light Table, the workspace will be blank, but you can switch back to an old workspace by clicking on the recent button and selecting any of your old workspaces. If you right click on files and folders already in the workspace, it gives you options such as renaming them, removing them from the workspace, or adding more folders inside others. If you right click on a blank area in the workspace, it gives you the option to add files or folders. By going to View -> Workspace you can open the workspace tree on the left, where you’ll see the options to open a folder, a file, or recent workspaces. If you’re working with multiple files, it’s inefficient to open them individually with the native open dialog, so instead we’ll use the workspace. You can also open a file already on your computer with Cmd-Shift-O or File -> Open file. Cmd-N or File -> New file will let you create a new file in a new tab, which will be untitled for the time being. To begin working in Light Table, all you need to do is create a new file or open an existing one. One other small detail to notice here is that any command that has a keybinding associated with it will show that keybinding in underneath the command in the list. You can find nearly any command in the command pane, from creating new files to customizing your Light Table experience. For example, I could type “ltd” to match “Light Table’s documentation”. In essence, it means you can type letters and as long as those letters appear in order in any list item, the command pane will show that item to you. The command pane is a filter list, which is a useful feature that will narrow down the results based on what you type. By hitting Ctrl-Space or going to View -> Commands, the command pane comes up, where you can type in whatever you want to do. In general, the best place to start finding things you can do in Light Table is use the command pane on the right. You can open the documentation at any time from the help menu, or on the web at. These docs have basic directions if you ever get lost or need to figure something out. The main screen is pretty basic, but it contains an important link - Light Table’s documentation.
